Inova Children’s Infectious Diseases is the only infectious disease practice dedicated exclusively to children located in Northern Virginia. Many common infectious diseases, especially in children, require swift evaluation and treatment. The experts at Inova Children’s are available whenever needed, often including for same-day consultations or hospital admissions, if needed.

Inova's pediatric infectious disease specialists evaluate common to rare tropical diseases, including fever of unknown origin, Lyme disease, pneumonia, meningitis and bronchiolitis.

Dr. LevorsonRebecca E. Levorson, MD

Rebecca Levorson, MD, is a physician board certified in Pediatric Infectious Disease and Pediatrics by the American Board of Pediatrics. She received her medical degree from Louisiana State University School of Medicine in Shreveport in 2004, and completed her residency and fellowship training at Children's National Medical Center.

Her areas of clinical interest are congenital infections, fever of unknown origin, tick borne infections, and appropriate use of antibiotics (antimicrobial stewardship).

Dr. Levorson has been named a "Top Doctor" by Northern Virginia Magazine, Virginia Living Magazine, and Washingtonian. She has also received a Ziai Award for Subspecialist of the year from Inova Children’s Hospital and is a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society.

Dr. Levorson grew up in Louisiana. In her free time she enjoys spending time with her family, baking, cooking, and volunteering at her daughter’s school and at her church.
